Can't Thank Them Enough
I haven't met many people in my life, and I sometimes regret not being more open to other people. Although this is the case, I have many friends and relatives that have changed my life forever. Coach Fish gave me a chance to run with the many amazing athletes on the Mira Costa Track and Cross Country team. He supported me although I was the worst runner on the team and I excelled with the help of his training and guidance. I cannot thank him enough as a valuable member of the junior varsity team. My parents support my activities and studies. I want to thank the many classmates who aid me in my quest for good grades. I've become more open and am now able to rely on others for emotional, physical, and academic support. Although I am still a quiet enigma, I am able to do much more that I could have ever done before.

The Introduction
My name is Jonathan Lau. I'm an Asian teenager who wears a scarf and beanie to school everyday. I'm a Mira Costa High School cross country athlete and a honor roll student. My favorite things are video games, anime, and running. I'm a casual gamer who enjoys all genres of video games. I am obsessed with anime ever since I started watching One Piece during my freshman year. Sports never stood out to me until I decided to join a team during high school; I made a decision that revolutionized my life. Cross country, a very painful sport that enveloped one's free time, gave me an opportunity to make new friends, give me a new perspective on life, and change myself into a man who takes pride in his efforts. I was never a person who stood out from a crowd, but so many new and exciting things began once I was admitted into Mira Costa. This school means a lot to me and I am proud to be a Mustang for the past four years.
